Aligned Media AI Policy
- Purpose and Scope
- Purpose: This policy outlines the principles and guidelines for the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence technologies (AI) within Aligned Media’s operations. It aims to ensure that while AI is used by Aligned Media to enhance efficiency, improve client outcomes and maintain trust, we will also work to mitigate its potential risks.
- Scope: This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and partners of Aligned Media who utilise AI tools and technologies in their work, including but not limited to:
- Automated bidding and campaign optimisation platforms.
- AI-powered audience targeting and segmentation tools.
- Content generation and analysis tools.
- Data analysis and reporting systems.
- Core Principles
- Transparency and Explainability:
- We will strive to understand and document how AI algorithms and models impact media buying decisions.
- We will only use AI technologies that we understand sufficiently.
- Where possible, we will provide clients with clear explanations of how AI is being used in their campaigns.
- We will avoid “black box” solutions and prioritise tools that offer transparency into their decision-making processes.
- Data Privacy and Security:
- We will adhere to all applicable data privacy regulations (e.g., Privacy Act NZ) and client confidentiality agreements.
- We will implement robust security measures to protect client data and prevent unauthorised access.
- We will ensure all Aligned Media data used for training and running AI is collected and used in a compliant method.
- Human Oversight and Accountability:
- We will maintain human oversight of AI systems and ensure that final media buying decisions are made by qualified professionals.
- We will establish clear lines of accountability for the use of AI and ensure that employees are trained in responsible AI practices.
- AI will be used as a tool to augment human capabilities, not replace them entirely.
- Continuous Improvement and Ethical Development:
- We will stay informed about the latest developments in AI and regularly review our policies and practices.
- We will engage in ongoing training and education to ensure that our employees are equipped to use AI responsibly.
- We will use AI to enhance, not harm the digital advertising ecosystem.

- We will provide employees with regular training on AI ethics, best practices, and relevant regulations.
- Training will be provided on the specific AI tools that employees use.
- Incident Response:
- We will create a plan for responding to AI related incidents, such as data breaches or algorithm errors.
- We will create a process for reporting and investigating AI related incidents.
